Detachment
When you are affected by stressful emotions and life becomes difficult, detachment is one of the ways to make life easier to live. Detachment allows us to live in the present, free to make empowered choices, to focus on harmony and avoid getting entangled in unnecessary drama and stress. It gives us clear vision, so even in the most challenging situations we are able to come from a place of power, inner confidence and peace.
Detachment is the most misunderstood concept of spirituality. Detachment can also be thought of as non-attachment. Non-attachment is when the mind and the senses are not affected by external circumstances, situations, desires and people. For e.g. we don't feel peace because we are either not getting what we want, or we are being triggered by people, circumstances and old conditioned belief systems. Detachment supports us in maintaining balance.
The mind
The mind obscures the Real Infinite Intuitive Self (Illumined SELF - I S), and therefore, the mind can be described as a veil. It is a veil of ignorance, which keeps you unaware of the magnificent presence of the SELF within you.
One of the first steps in knowing your true SELF is to understand the mind and teach it detachment. Just as removing the firewood from the fire automatically extinguishes the flame, removing the energetic links that bind the mind to desires, objects, habits and beliefs, automatically frees our awareness to experience the power of the SELF.

Below you will find an exercise to help you cultivate detachment in the moment.
The Infinity Exercise
You may ask what is this exercise? Is it a manifesting tool? Is it a cleansing technique? Is it a clearing method? Is it for stress management? Is it for present moment awareness? Is it for flow? Is it a way to step into peace? Is it for conflict resolution? Is it to support you on the journey of Self-Realisation?
It is for all of the above and so much more. It can help you find ease and relief with the day to day chores of everyday life. Support you in being present and accountable in challenging times with demanding people. Help you be detached and discerning when you most need it. When you practise the infinity exercise, you may experience purity, and this leads to the awareness of divinity and the realisation of Unity.
The ‘Infinity Exercise’ is a part of the LiberatingTouch® Detachment Process. It is a visualisation technique, where you visualise or imagine that you are in one loop of a large ‘Infinity symbol’ and the object, symbol or person that you need to detach from is in the opposite loop of the ‘Infinity symbol’. You then visualise a ‘white serpent of light’ moving along the path of the ‘Infinity symbol’ (clockwise or counter-clockwise), looping around you and then looping around the ‘other’, as illustrated in the diagram above.
This one visualisation will help you to create space so that you can respond to any situation/person with clarity and strength. The use of the Infinity Exercise is colloquially referred to as "Infinitising".
As you do this your thoughts will create a vortex of energy spinning around you in one direction and spinning around the loop in front of you in the opposite direction. Physics tells us that objects spinning in opposite directions cannot come together but will pull apart. A vortex will also pull everything to its centre, just like water in a sink which spirals as it drains out.
When we do this exercise, we are communicating to the subconscious, in symbolic language, to deprogram our attachment to the object, person or symbol in the loop opposite us. Therefore, the subconscious will free the energy locked in the conditioned process and allow us to reclaim our power. In effect, it is breaking the pattern of control (fear). The mind is extremely powerful and thoughts can manifest energetically (as you think so it becomes).
We all know how easy it is to get enmeshed in irate conversations, to be triggered by a remark, or to feel pressured. If in that moment, you remember to visualise, think, or even trace the Infinity symbol with your fingers, and imagine that you are in one loop, and the distressing/annoying/confusing issue/person is in the other loop; you can instantly create the breathing space you require to disengage from the story and take inspired action.
This exercise can be used whenever you feel that you are reacting to someone or something, even during a phone call, or when conversing with someone. All you have to do is put yourself in one loop of the Infinity symbol, and the person or object in the other loop and visualise the ‘white serpent of light’ going along the path of the ‘Infinity symbol’, till your reaction stops, or till you experience serenity.
You can infinitise (detach) from someone or something that makes you react negatively, or from that which you are trying to control, or from someone or something you are allowing to control you. This exercise draws all your scattered energy back to you, and similarly all the energy of the person, or challenge, back to itself in the other loop. This weakens the energetic links and allows you to meet any situation, person, addiction, or substance with understanding and compassion.

I’m prompted to use it mainly when I’m talking to someone ( in person or on the phone) who is starting to trigger a degree of anxiety in me. I wanted to share my infinitising experience this morning. Bella, my 2 year-old was off to her at home care and today her carer will be taking her to the church where they have music for kids for an hour. It’s her first time at the class without me and the carer asked if she could wear a pull up for her time at the class and she will take her to the toilet there. Bella does a poo every morning like clockwork and she has never done one in a pull up on the few occasions she’s worn one say in the car etc. I felt a bit worried then when no poo was on its way this morning. I knew she would need one after all her kiwifruit and porridge. Time was ticking on for me to leave to drop her off and I could feel myself getting stressed about it and I knew Bella would be feeling this too and maybe holding on. So I started to do the infinity on the stress, with Bella and I in one loop and the poo and stress in the other… Literally within 2 minutes she sat on the potty for a wee and a poo.
This was the fastest work with the infinity hehe!
I’ve been pondering today my experience with infinity recently and how it’s felt quite profoundly different from other times and I can’t help but feel that it’s been my focus and intention I’ve put behind them that’s shifted things with quite large magnitude. Previously, I would be doing the infinity but also doing other things in my busy mind too.

I use it for certain emotions, when they are at a greater intensity, some people or group, some event or trip. I have a great story of asking at the Tree and infinitising that happened today.
I was packing up my car to drive up north and for some insane reason I put my new phone on the roof - my sister then came out to load up her cases etc so I got distracted - long story short I drove off with the phone still on the roof - about an hour into my drive my sister gets a message to say I was involved in a crash as a warning from my phone (she’s on my emergency contacts) it gives her a location - we check and it dawns on me my phone was on the roof - I immediately start drawing the infinity on my leg as we figure out from the time etc. where the phones landed - our friend from the Vyne goes out to look for it (she was a poorly lady too) I tugged on the ribbon and asked for the IS to keep my friend safe as it was a very busy road and to help her find the phone - after about half an hour of communications between us she not only finds it but it's also not damaged.
I was in a service station waiting for news from her and drawing the infinity with me in one side and my friend holding my phone in the other side praying for her to find it - this was on the A33 Reading road to the M4 - what was amazing was the phone hadn’t landed on this busy dual carriageway to be crushed by a lorry/car but right on the grass lay-by where she could pull over, she said she could see it sparkling in the dim light

I wouldn’t be without using the infinity symbol - I use it when I’m driving, I use it when I’m seeing clients and I visualise it whilst I'm doing a session otherwise, I’m drawing it on my leg. It’s been a great asset that I continually tell my clients about and how to use it themselves.
Used it recently to help me throughout the Christmas festivities. Great when I’m with family members.
Good for tricky conversations - even when tackling phone contracts.
Basically, I can’t think of a time when I’m not using it (maybe when I’m sleeping)

Great Detachment Story - I put my house on the market in the beginning of April. We had 3 initial viewings, followed by 2 in the first month but then things tapered off and there was no interest for a few weeks. I checked in and received the guidance that over 17 years of staying here, I had created a powerful connection to my house energetically and I should do something to clear it. I immediately felt guided to do a LT detachment process to the house which I started recently.
The step 2 wording really helped clear all aspects of the journey of selling, especially the many emotions that come up with a project of huge change.
After just 7 days I had an offer on the house!
It was from the people who had looked at the house 3 weeks previously and hadn’t even given any feedback!
We have counter offered and accepted the final offer today. Amazing! ️

The Detachment Process has 4 Steps
STEP 1 - Relax, Connect, and Ask
When something is tripping you up constantly, or when you feel something is affecting your life, or your relationships, and you want to be free of that distraction (obstacle), you do STEP 1 of the detachment process. In this step you listen to the guided visualisation and ask the Illumined Self, what you need to detach from. Trust the guidance. Go with the guidance.

Then go to STEP 2 of the detachment process and use the infinity exercise for 2 weeks to help you lessen the energy of that obstacle. STEP 2 will help you begin the process of reclaiming your power.

STEP 3 - Use the Detachment Visualisation
Next, do STEP 3 of the detachment process to remove the obstacle (release the trapped energy). This step is a guided visualisation.

STEP 4 - Write the letter to the SELF
After this do STEP 4 to complete the detachment process and firmly convince your mind that you are free from that obstacle. In this step you write a letter to the Illumined Self and burn it. Offer the ashes with some water to a nearby Tree.
It is essential to write this letter in your own words. After you have written the letter, burn the letter, add some water to the ashes, and then pour the water and ashes at the base of a tree.

Once you teach the mind to detach...
At first the mind will resist any attempt to detach. It will refuse to let go of its stories, attachments and its thirst for control. Once it has tasted the freedom and peace that arises from detachment, the mind looks forward to the joy of non-attachment. A detached mind is patient, open, clear, and able to delight in the exquisite goodness and beauty of the SELF everywhere.
